Custom go-kart

I fabricated the frame and integrated four systems that had to work together:

• Drivetrain: mechanical drive from the engine to the rear wheels
• Steering: steering linkage and alignment
• Electrical: integrated the kart's electrical system
• Safety: roll cage, seat mounting, and reliable brakes, all needed before going fast

Most of the work was machining, assembly, alignment, and troubleshooting the structure. I found that getting everything square and aligned mattered as much as horsepower.

• Engine: replaced the carburetor and exhaust for more power
• Controls: built custom brake and throttle assemblies to match the new power
• Driver interface: added a butterfly steering wheel for better control at speed
